Why You Should Catch Up On Season 3 of Alexa & Katie ASAP

– Written by Zainab Kagalwala

Alexa & Katie is not only a TV series about best friends but goes beyond that initial soul sister impression. It’s an uplifting watch which might sound depressing from the looks of it, but I will travel ends of this earth to prove that it is a feel-good, light-hearted, funny, witty, and wishful as bingeing Brooklyn nine-nine. This TV series made me laugh, cry and turn my hopes up for a similar best friendsy story. Do not get me wrong when I say that because Alexa & Katie does not fall in the category of watch-but-can-never-have or cringe-because-this-is-so-made-up.

Disney Princesses impact on young girls

The use of media has advanced greatly over the last decade. The availability of information via movies, cartoons and TV shows has become so much easier than it was before. Children learn to use technology as soon as they can grasp objects in their hands. Animated movies are one of the first visuals a child sees and fairytales and Disney movies are a big part of the animated franchise. Thus the representation of women, mainly as a beautiful goddess or in this case a Princess is instilled at a very young age.

Pottermore Sorting

Back when all Potterheads were given the amazing portal that was Pottermore, I like everybody, signed up for it and played on it for hours and hours. Trying to perfect a potion or get the perfect arc for a spell was the only thing I could think of.

Then life happened and I lost track of what was happening on Potter. Recently, while reading articles I came across an article by The Little Contemporary Corner on Pottermore Sorting and I decided to give it a try.

The Netflix Book Tag

A few days ago, while browsing some blogs, I came across the Netflix Book Tag and I thought to myself, why not try it out. You can find the original tag created by A Dark Shade of Whitney here.

It’s been forever since I’ve done a book tag so let’s jump right in.

13 Reasons Why…

The show had been on a controversial roller coaster since it aired on Netflix in 2017. The story of Hannah Baker, very well written by Jay Asher was in a movie form now and we heard what Hannah had to say in Season 1. In season 2, everyone on the tapes shares their side of the story and basically, we all end up disliking the plot of season 2.

Season 3 which aired on 23rd August gives us a glimpse of Bryce Walker’s death and the main question – who killed Bryce Walker?

Read at your own risk. Spoilers ahead!

My Obsession With The Little Mermaid Continues…

The side effect of binge watching movies all weekend is reviews…la laalalala la.

Okay that was a horrible, horrible joke at the expense of The Chainsmokers’ Side Effects ft. Emily Warren (watch the video featuring Riverdale’s Camila Mendes if you haven’t already) but whatever works. :p

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before – Movie Review

Let me just tell you right now, this film is solid 5 ⭐ , gold, coming of age material.

Based on a novel by the same name, penned by Jenny Han, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is a story of a lonely half-Asian, half-American teen, Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor) who is used to living life vicariously through her elder sister Margot Covey (Janel Parrish). She also writes love-letters to her crushes, but they’re a diary of sorts. These letters aren’t to be mailed. Ever. Continue reading “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before – Movie Review”
